Some Plans

When people hear "Thailand" and "beach", most automatically think Phuket. Well, Phuket is a tourist trap with high crime rates, over-developed, controlled by the tuk-tuk mafia, maybe the most overrated place in Thailand. That's not to say that it's 'bad'. It isn't and it sure as hell as beats 99.9% places in the world, but...
A good alternative is Ao Nang. Less people, fantastic beaches, access to all the islands. Of course, this is hypothetical until I get there. :) SOON.

If You Could Take Only 14 Books with You... lol

What... you didn't really think I wasn't gonna wax philosophical in my blog, did you? :)
I reduced my library of over 2000 books... down to 14 books that I am taking with me.

I Am That - is the greatest spiritual book of all time. Period. If you argue with me, I KNOW you haven't read it.... or lived it.

Healing and Recovery - I consider it the best book of Doctor Hawkins, great reading in any emergency. Signed by the author, now deceased. Will keep it and use it til I croak.

A Course in Miracles - a text truly from a higher plane.

The Lost World - the best companion on my path of adventure.

Tao Te Ching - deep and simple.

Siddhartha - the book that got the ball rolling for me when I was 18. Wisdom for every situation. Sheer beauty.

Backgammon for Blood - pure entertainment with my favorite game. Awesome beach reading.

Ramana - pictorial with pithy sayings by the greatest recent enlightened sage.

The Gitas - the most ancient and penetrating wisdom of the East.

Demian - another Hesse book. Embrace your shadow.

Of course, I have 100s of books on my Kindle... but these are the hard copies I am taking.

30 Day Notice Given

I gave the 30 day written notice at my job today. Last day of work will be Oct. 27th for me, pretty close to the closing day.
Feels great. :)

Moving to Thailand

After work today, I found out that the house sale has become FIRM... which means I am moving out of this townhouse where I lived for 20 years on Oct. 31st.... and flying to Bangkok Nov. 5th or sooner. :) BYE BYE CANADA, and HAVE A NICE DAY / WINTER. (Reference: The Mosquito Coast)
I've been planning this escape since 2010. The house reno alone took a year and a half... a major pain in the ass that took much longer than I ever anticipated.
Everything ends... that's often a good news. Still can't believe it. Giving my work notice first thing Monday morning.
